Why WebmasterIT...?

We are a small independant company and therefore offer a personal service at a sensible price. You will speak with the person who is responsible for designing your site and have an input throughout the creative process. Our aim is ensure our client's receive a professional well designed site for a low cost outlay.

How Long Does It Take?...

We aim to provide your site within 4 to 6 weeks. Somethimes it is possible to expedite the site if your needs are urgent. Some sites take longer to produce for example a site with more than 5 pages (outside our standard packages) may take up to 3 months depending on the content.

I Have a Site I want to Change...

We can change, amend or maintain existing sites if this is your need. Prices vary depending on the size of the site and the level to which updating is necessary.

What about Optimisation...?

Web site optimisation is a specialised area. Many designers will claim to be able to get you top spot on Google, few will be able to deliver. We do not make false claims regarding optimisation, our sites are designed with search engines in mind which should give you a head start. We do however suggest that you obtain the services of a specialist SEO (search engine optimisation) company if you want to see your site on the front page of Google as a priority.

Q. What Level of Consultation Will there be regarding my site?
A. We will talk to you about how you want your site to look and ask for you input on styling. We will ask you to supply relevant photos and text for your site. Consultation will usually take place via phone or email.

Q. What is a dynamic page?
A. Dynamic pages include forms or flash elements like animated banners and the like. These types of elements are not included in our packages. We are happy to offer you a quote for such elements should you wish.

Q. What is File Forwarding and Uploading?
A. File forwarding is the supply of the website files for you to use as you wish. If you have your own hosting arranged we will simply forward you the files in a suitable format either by email or on disc. File uploading is the process of physically loading your site on to your web host server so that the site appears on the Internet.

Q. Why do I have to arrange hosting and my domain name through 1and1?
A. You don't, we will upload your site to any provider that you chose . If however you would like us to arrange hosting we will organise a 1and1 account for you. This will involve a monthly payment to 1and1 dependant on the hosting package you chose. There are a wide range of packages available starting from as little as £1.99 per month. We will discuss this with you before you decide to proceed. With domain name registration there will be a small one off fee for initial registration dependant on the type of domain you require. It is sometimes possible to obtain an inclusive domain name with your hosting. Note: Domains often require re-registration for a nominal fee on a yearly basis.

Q. What does "Site Management" Mean and what do I get?
A. The best way to keep people coming back to your site is to make sure that the content is always up to date. Changes to the content of your site will be your responsibility if you chose not to have us manage your website. We will of course make amendments to your site for a small fee if you do not take out a site management contract with us. If you do want us to manage the site we will undertake up to an hours work on your site each month, this can be anything from changing the content to changing the look and feel of the site.

Q. What about site optimisation?
A. We do not offer an optimisation service. We make every effort to ensure that your site is search engine friendly and will submit it to the major search engines with a sitemap free of charge.
